The London Borough of Lewisham has appointed JSA to undertake an assessment of its parks and open spaces. The Borough last completed an assessment in 2010 and this new assessment will inform Lewisham’s current Local Plan Review.
The project will include an assessment of over 350 public parks and natural landscapes across the Borough and the development of an evidence-based needs assessment for parks and open spaces that will inform future planning policy. JSA will develop open space provision recommendations with public open space consultant Peter Neal. Quality assessment data collected for the Borough will be structured as a first phase for a Corporate Natural Capital Account as a future option for the Borough.
The Lewisham project will further develop JSA’s strong portfolio of green infrastructure assessments across London.
